Coastal zone has several issues such as coastal environment degradation because of rapid development which only pursuit economic growth and productivity such as tourism driven development. Without any development control, coastal area has a high degree probability of environmental degradation and damaged ecosystem. Control in spatial planning and development needs government attention and community involvement. Recently, development of information and communication technologies change the way of communication between policy makers and the community. Therefore, the use of Web 2.0 along with public participatory GIS (PPGIS) can be a means of inclusive and interactive communication. The development of Information System for Development Control on Urbanized Coastal Area was built on the concept of Web 2.0 with considering specific characteristics of coastal areas.
